Every air conditioner produces water. Warm humid air hits a cold coil, moisture condenses out, and it runs into a tray and away down a drain line. A leak means that water is not getting out.

Why is my aircon leaking water inside the house?
Nine times out of ten it is a blocked condensate drain, or a filter dirty enough that the coil iced up and then thawed. Both are inexpensive. Switch the unit off in the meantime so the water stops.
Is a water leak from an aircon dangerous?
Not to you, but it damages ceilings, walls and flooring quickly, and it is a common source of mould. It is worth attending to within days rather than weeks.
How do I know if my aircon is leaking gas?
You generally cannot see it. The signal is cooling that fades gradually over weeks, sometimes with ice on the thin copper pipe outside or an oily film at the pipe joints. It has to be confirmed with a pressure or electronic leak test.
Can a refrigerant leak be repaired, or must the unit be replaced?
